Salary: $37.34/hr
: Cambrian College’s Teaching and Learning Innovation Hub requires a full-time Instructional Designer on a permanent basis.
Note: Internal candidates, as defined by the Full-Time Support Staff Collective Agreement, will be given first consideration
Duties and Responsibilities
: Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, faculty, and the Hub team to design active and engaging learning experiences.
- Develop instructional materials that align with AODA requirements, UDL guidelines, and the College’s Quality Criteria for Digital/Online Learning.
- Create technology-enhanced courses and resources that integrate effectively with the LMS (Moodle) and other College-supported tools.
- Support faculty and staff by responding to online inquiries and assisting with drop-in requests.
- Contribute to the Hub’s web and social media presence.
- Facilitate professional learning opportunities for faculty, independently and in collaboration with internal partners.
- Support project work by contributing to tasks and documenting project updates.
- Stay current with emerging trends in instructional design, online learning, educational technology, accessibility, and adult learning theory.
Qualifications
: - Minimum three-year postsecondary diploma / degree or equivalent.

- Minimum two years of experience working with Learning Management Systems and web-based authoring tools related to education and training.
- Experience applying the requirements of Ontario AODA legislation to the creation of educational materials.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- A self-starter with strong organizational and time-management skills and the ability to multi-task.
- Commitment to working within a team environment.
Assets/Preferred:
- Training or certification in Instructional Design, Education, Educational Technologies, Accessibility (e.g., AODA/WCAG), Universal Design for Learning (UDL), Web/Multimedia Development, or a related area is considered an asset.
