Position Overview
Under direction of the Program Manager, the Indigenous Knowledge Facilitator will be responsible for the design and delivery of education and training related to Indigenous peoples, the impacts of colonialism, cultural safety, Anishinabek history, and traditional knowledge, services and medicines to the community, staff, and clients.
The Indigenous Knowledge Facilitator will also support Dilico’s Bimaadiziwin Wiidookaagewin Cultural Program services around traditional healing, guidance and counselling, teachings, sacred circles, and ceremonies, collaborating with communities and staff to promote a balance of health and wellbeing within our First Nation communities.
The position is permanent full-time and travel to the district will be required.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Indigenous Studies, Education, Social Science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience with emphasis on Indigenous connections, lived experience, and learning
- At least two (2) years of experience working in Indigenous knowledge transfer, including Indigenous approaches to teaching and learning preferably within an Indigenous organization;
- At least two (2) years of experience in working in health or social service-related organization in a service coordination capacity with strong organizational and leadership skills, and strong knowledge of professional standards of practice;
- c. at least one (1) year of working as a presenter/facilitator/instructor
